Given the blips and squiggles and Mac-made pixel-muck that passes without a shrug as blog fodder these days, it’s refreshing to say the least to have been introduced to Grand Rapids’ Valentiger.
We’ve been tossing around Replacements references all week and I’m even hearing some Hüsker Dü in TVD’s exclusive premiere of Valentiger’s brand new video “Frozen Dozing” from their LP, Oh, to Know!
The video was directed by Valentiger’s Eric Kehoe and filmed in the same house where Oh, to Know! was recorded—Stocking Studios in Grand Rapids, MI. “The video was shot using 1 camera and 3 takes. No alcohol was consumed until we had finished the video—when we went to the Web Bar and drank pitchers and ate some sketchy food. Love that place,” Kehoe told us.
Onward—it’s TVD’s exclusive premiere for Valentiger’s “Frozen Dozing.” Basement bashing at its best.
In what’s been a running theme for 11 weeks here at TVD and being hit home this week with a fireworks finale, Valentiger’s given us two copies of their LP Oh, to Know! to give away to two lucky winners in celebration of Record Store Day 2011!
