This town was abuzz with chatter a few weeks ago when The Strokes were announced as the headliner at this year’s Sweetlife Festival, and you could hear jaws collectively hitting the floor all over the city after yesterday’s announcement of the sensational full lineup of the festival (and date change from 4/30 to 5/1).
Lemme break it down for you.
This one of the few chances you’ll have to see The Strokes this year, who release their upcoming album Angles on March 22nd. Crystal Castles and Cold War Kids both have upcoming shows at 9:30 Club that are SOLD OUT. Girl Talk’s two recent nights at 9:30 Club SOLD OUT. DC local heroes U.S. Royalty (be still my heart) return for their second Sweetlife Festival, which, unlike last year (as much as I loved it), will not just be featuring a DJ set by Hot Chip in the middle of Dupont Circle without any alcohol. AND! Lupe Fiasco, Ra Ra Riot, Theophilus London, Cincinnati’s Walk the Moon, and DC’s Modern Man… Well, they’re not too bad, either. 😉 Holy shit, this festival is going to be amazing.
You want these tickets.
