We hinted; you figured it out, of course. Started by indie rocker Greg Dulli of the Afghan Whigs as a side project, The Twilight Singers are currently touring in support of their recent release through Sub Pop, Dynamite Steps, their first album in five years. Give a listen to a track from the album below, “Blackbird and the Fox” featuring Ani DiFranco. The tour kicks off today in Oxford, Mississippi, they’ll be hitting up 9:30 Club on Monday (5/9), and we have a chance for you to win a pair of tickets.
Bonus: Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s are opening.
From Sub Pop:
“Dynamite Steps explores the thin line between life and death, mortality and immortality, resignation and celebration—that mythical moment when your life flashes before your eyes, drawn out here over the course of eleven songs. The album’s forty-three minutes prove an unflinching odyssey through the dark side, but one that’s ultimately redemptive in its scope and power.”
That is deep, man.
To win the tickets, simply tell us the song that makes you think deep thoughts.
P.S. I haven’t decided yet whether anyone who says “Freebird” is automatically disqualified or will be the definite winner. Take your chance. Just test me.
The winner will be chosen Friday (5/6) at noon.
