TVD Ticket Giveaway: The Tragically Hip at the 9:30 Club, 11/12

First of all, there’s that band name. These guys are from Ontario. I suggest the Tragically Frigid.

Then there’s Gord Downie, perhaps the finest lyricist Canada has produced since Gordon Lightfoot. Put him together with some crack musicians, and you have the Tragically Hip, the long-running Canadian—they’ve been at it since 1983—arena rockers, who are coming to the 9:30 Club on Monday, November 12th to regale us with stories of the Great North.

This is a must-see show for all you dark Canucks and Canadian wannabes, and be sure to bring your knit Maple Leaf caps and flannel shirts. The Tragically Hip (or just The Hip to Canadians) are out to support their new album, Now for Plan A (Rounder Records, 2012), which may not be Downie’s most stellar poetic work but which shows the band at their finest. You can listen to it in its entirety on their website.

We’ve got your ticket giveaway to the show at the 9:30 Club. For a chance to win a pair of tickets, tell us your favorite Tragically Hip song, from “The Darkest One” to “Goodnight Attawapiskat” to “Bobcaygeon.”

The winner will be chosen at noon on Wednesday, November 7th. Tickets are still available.
