TVD Ticket Giveaway: Reverend Horton Heat at 9:30 Club, 5/14

The Reverend Horton Heat brings psychobilly to 9:30 Club on Saturday (5/14), and we have a chance for you to win a pair of tickets.

From the 9:30 Club May Concert Calendar Preview that I wrote last week:

The Reverend Horton Heat’s jams can be classified as ‘psychobilly,’ and that’s exactly what it sounds like, country-punk-rockabilly, shaken, not stirred, with a twist of humor. The Reverend Horton Heat is both the alter-ego of Texan frontman Jim Heath and the name of his band, and birds of a feather seem to flock together: After touring with Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, The Reverend Horton Heat will embark on subsequent tours with Swingin’ Utters and then Nashville Pussy. Most fun sentence I have written in weeks.”

That was just so much fun to write that I had to post it again.

And then today, I realized that The Reverend Horton Heat has his own wine! To celebrate his recent Australian tour, George Road Winery released Ltd. Edition Reverend Horton Heat wines. However, the wines are not available outside of Oz, and even down under, there is a waiting list due to unprecedented demand.

So because I can’t make up my mind, today you have a choice, dear readers.

To win the tickets, you can either tell us your favorite weird band name OR your favorite song about booze. My choice is the obvious one: UB40’s “Red Red Wine.”

The winner will be chosen Thursday (5/12) at noon.
