If you’re unfamiliar with the name Miike Snow, you might be inclined to think it’s either a rapper from the ’80s or someone who sells something illegal on the street corner, but really, you couldn’t be further from the truth.
Although the product Miike Snow is delivers is known to be addictive, the Swedish indie pop three-piece is much more likely to make you want to dance than anything else. This Wednesday they’re coming to the 9:30 Club, and we’ve got tickets to the late show for some lucky fans!
Miike Snow broke onto the scene in 2009 with their self-titled effort. They’ve since built a name for themselves, carved with intelligent electro-pop with tinges of mature emotionalism and locked grooves that make it difficult for your feet not to tap along. Miike Snow not only played heavily in the remix game, working with songs (or having songs worked) by Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Caspa, Crookers, and more, they’ve also released their second album, last year’s Happy to You, to abundant fan reception and critical praise.
They’ll be coming to the 9:30 Club this Wednesday and we’ve got a pair of tickets. So how can you get your hands on ’em? It’s simple! In the comments below, tell us your favorite album with the word “Happy” in the title.
Since I’m all about some 2000-era post-rock, I’m going to have to go with Mogwai’s ironically titled Happy Songs for Happy People.
The winner will be chosen at noon on Tuesday, October 23rd. Tickets are still available. Good Luck!
