TVD Ticket Giveaway: Cat Power at the 9:30 Club, 10/22

Seriously though, how many artist from the Lilith Fair days are thriving now?

Though you can’t really consider the range of Cat Power (Charlyn Marie Marshall) to be as simple as ’90s Lilith-alt-rock, the girl who got her start opening for Liz Phair has come a long way. The singer-songwriter has shown she’s got the staying power with gusto, releasing her 8th album Sun earlier this year. She’s touring all across the states with her new set of songs, and we’ve got a pair of tickets to to give away to her show at the 9:30 Club on October 22nd.

In September of this year, Catpower released the self-produced Sun to critical acclaim and commercial success. The combination of a singer-songwriter’s attention to well-constructed melodies in tandem with sparse electronic beats lay the perfect framework for Marshall’s delicate-but-firm floating vocals.

So how can you be the lucky fan to end up with the tickets? It’s simple! In the comments below tell us your favorite song or album involving outer space.

Since I can’t deny a classic, I’m going to have to go with Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.

The winner will be chosen at noon on Tuesday, October 9th. Tickets are close to selling out, so act fast to ensure you won’t miss out.
