Acclaimed alt rock duo Blackfield just released their third album Welcome to My DNA and are kicking off their North American tour in support of the album with their first stop at 9:30 Club next Wednesday (5/18) after spending April touring extensively through Israel and Europe. We have a chance for you to win a pair of tickets.
The band is a collaboration between Stephen Wilson of the British prog-rockers Porcupine Tree and Israeli musician Aviv Geffen, who explains that “We made the album together, it wasn’t an email album. Steven came to Israel and I came to London.”
Welcome to My DNA has been described by Clash as “a lush but soulful mix of separate cultures, deep sounds and touching lyrics.” Geffen himself has said that it is “an album about loneliness and sadness. There are many songs about love, god… the same subjects that Blackfield have dealt with before . . . I believe it’s our best work so far and I’m really excited about going on stage with this album.”
