Aerosmith embody the notion of unexpected. Well into their fourth decade, the Boston band of brothers-in-arms have taken to the road yet again on their 2012 “Global Warming Tour” which lands in DC’s backyard, Bristow, VA, this Sunday, 8/12.
And when I say “unexpected,” who could believe that the band’s original line-up is wholly intact? Who could believe that after numerous stints in rehab, “Toxic Twins” Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are walking the Earth? Hell, who could believe that Steven Tyler would be a judge on TV’s loathsome American Idol? Who would believe after the war of words in the press over the aforementioned judgeship, the boys are talking and actually hitting the stage together?
Who could believe that this DC date, scheduled for sometime back, was canceled than rescheduled for this Sunday? Well, believe it all because we have a pair of tickets to award one of you guys to check out the band with special guests Cheap Trick!
And by the way, I saw Cheap Trick this past winter and they haven’t lost a thing in their fourth decade either. OK, maybe Bun E. Carlos—but they still blew the roof off at the Fillmore in Silver Spring last February.
