Fort Knox Recordings and ESL Music bring you a night of hot funk at a special all-DC showcase this Saturday (3/12). It’s okay if you can’t make it to SXSW because Empresarios will be dropping their latin-flavored, dubby beats at Rock and Roll Hotel with The Funk Ark and Thunderball (DJ Set) before all three bands head out west the next day to ATX.
Empresarios just released their debut album Sabor Tropical in January on Fort Knox Recordings, and the album is already #6 on the CMJ World Charts. They will play at least three showcases in Austin:

ESL Music will be releasing The Funk Ark’s debut album in May, just released Thunderball’s fourth album, 12 Mile High, last November, and will be releasing an album of Thunderball remixes this spring.

Empresarios’ music can be described as a sexy, blissed-out mixture of dub, latin, funk, and hiphop.
