Moneytown celebrates its third anniversary tonight—which hasn’t gone unnoticed by DC’s venerable tower of editorial power, the Washington Post, which wrote on Tuesday, “When you walk into (Kevin) Coombe’s monthly Moneytown dance party . . . at Little Miss Whiskey’s, you get three guarantees: Coombe is going to shine a light on little-known artists who should have been huge; he’s going to spin only original vinyl singles; and you’re not going to stop grooving all night. (Well, maybe long enough to choose a beer from Miss Whiskey’s awesome selection, or catch your breath in the striking back garden. But not too long.)
