TVD Recommends: Cuddle Magic, Rachel Ries, Sam McCormally, and David Klinger at
The Dunes, 3/8

A night of rhythmic genius, lyrical poetry, and harmonic singing will take place this Saturday at The Dunes

Headlining the talented group of musicians is Cuddle Magic. Cuddle Magic is composed of six multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriters known for their close-knit antics and their unique genre of baroque dance music.

From Brooklyn, they bring with them the lovely Rachel Ries, whose sound resembles a cross between Regina Spektor and Maria Muldar. Ries will be promoting her release Ghost of a Gardner, which exudes delightful melodies mixed with a spice of city grit.

Preceding the New Yorkers will be two skillful local songwriters. The show will feature the vocally charged tunes of singer-songwriter Sam McCormally of the recently disbanded Ugly Purple Sweater. You may recognize Sam from his current stint on bass with local band Paperhaus.

The event will begin with DC native David Klinger, who was a band member of the now-defunct experimental folk and jazz group Frau Eva.

Tickets to Saturday’s show are $10, doors are at 7 pm, and music begins at 8pm. More information can be found on the Facebook event page.
