Turns out they’re lyrics from “We Can Get Together” by The Hold Steady.
I thought was it both a sweet and perfect sentiment for this week when we’re rummaging through The Shivers’ record collection. We’re back this morning with another trip through Jo Schornikow’s stash of wax:
In a Silent Way by Miles Davis: This album that always sounds so warm, deep and soulful sounds absolutely ridiculously good on Vinyl. It’s my favorite Miles record. (There I said it.)

Finlandia by Sibelius: I played this in a high school orchestra and fell in love with the darkness and lushness of the melody and the arrangement. I was so happy to find it on vinyl. It is so beautiful. I have made many winter soups while listening to this version.

Still Crazy After All These Years by Paul Simon: Another thrift store find. I have actually worn the title track down a bit, as I’ve played it so many times. This record sounds so intimate on vinyl, like Paul Simon is singing to you in your living room.
I clearly recall playing along to this song for hours on my old piano and having to jump up and move the needle back each time the song finished.
