Post-White Stripes, The White Stripes Live On!

The White Stripes have been making a lot of headway on the web with the breakup of Jack and Meg. It’s been a bummer for fans worldwide.

It’s a breakup akin to the last of the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers features. But, fret not, for there is still time to rejoice. Meg and Jack live on in vinyl, digital, and remixes, particularly a recent venture by LA’s Glitch Mob.

And Jack by himself… is just being Jack. Busier than a one-legged tap dancer, he’s going a second round with another Grand Dame of Country — Wanda Jackson. Jack’s like an itinerant rocker on a constant quest for a muse. But unlike an undisciplined busker, the man’s got the Midas touch. Aside from a Bond song and two supergroups, Jack shepherded a Grammy Best Country album and career revival for Loretta Lynn.

Now the Queen of Rockabilly is up at bat. And here’s the pitch: another North American Tour in short sight.

And what about Meg, the angel-faced drummer behind the garage rock beats of the legendary White Stripes? Well… if you advise the peanut gallery, perhaps she may consider a riot grrl revival with her legendary mother-in-law, Patti Smith. Just sayin’.
