“Some of my earliest and fondest memories of listening to music are when, as a child, I would search through my dad’s record collection and then sit on the living room floor and listen to these great old vinyl records.
I loved everything about vinyl – the whole experience of pulling the record out and putting it on the turntable, the crackle of the needle, and the giant artwork that was always so interesting and appealing to look at and read. I could sit for hours listening and thumbing through the artwork, reading all the lyrics written on the sleeve.
My dad was a big folk rock fan and some of the first records I remember hearing and loving were by artists like Simon and Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, Crosby, Stills & Nash. I still love these records and am very grateful for that time in my life.
I feel like it gave me a real appreciation for the whole act of listening to music. Being absorbed in it and enjoying the experience of it. The amazing sound of the vinyl and the beautiful artwork that pointed to the mysterious and glamorous life of the musicians in the pictures and the music.”
