I know it’s been a lot longer than “Two Weeks” since most of us have seen Grizzly Bear.

Grizzly Bear is one of the rare acts who happens upon fame rather than striving for it. With the massive, unexpected commercial success that 2009’s Veckatimest brought them, Grizzly Bear went from an indie treasure to a well-known artistic endeavour with calculated folk-pop that is accessible while still catering to a dense atmosphere. Selling out huge venues world-wide and even working a touring stint or two with Radiohead, Grizzly Bear’s performance is one built out of experience and effort that is not to be missed.
They’ve announced that their new album will be delivered to the masses on September 18th, and the first song from the album, “Sleeping Ute,” premiered last week. That, in tandem with the recent releases of Daniel Rossen’s solo effort and Bassist Chris Taylor’s project CANT, will ensure that there will be plenty of new music to vibe off of.
