FRONTIER RUCKUS at Martyrs’, 3/16

Michigan’s Frontier Ruckus will be swinging through Chicago tonight as part of their current tour. The band, named “Best Folk Group” in Detroit, has managed to build an impressive discography in the last few years. Centered around the lyrics of songwriter Matthew Milia, Frontier Ruckus released their debut record, The Orion Songbook, in November 2008.

Released as a double-vinyl, the fourth side of the record became it’s own six-song EP, titled “Way Upstate and the Crippled Summer, pt.1”. The release of Deadmalls and Nighfalls in 2010 brought with it another fourth-side EP, “Way Upstate and the Crippled Summer, pt.2”. Check out the new 8mm music video for the track “Mona and Emmy” below.

You can grab a number of Frontier Ruckus’ records on vinyl, including the latest, “Way Upstate & the Crippled Summer, pt. 2”, through Lower Peninsula Records.
