We always call them local heroes here at TVD HQ in Washington, DC, but maybe we should just call them U.S. Royalty because they’re truly kings of men. Nicest guys ever!
So when I found out that they would be headlining at the famed Schubas in Chicago on Friday (6/10), I had to make sure that our Chicago readers could see for themselves why they’re one of our favorite local bands and why their song “Monte Carlo” has been called “the best unrecorded Fleetwood Mac song I’ve ever heard.” We have a pair of tickets to give away!
U.S. Royalty have been busy, busy boys, releasing their debut full-length MIRRORS earlier this year, playing with an all-star lineup including The Strokes and Girl Talk at Sweetlife Festival out here last month, and touring the country with Broken Records and Third Eye Blind. Still, they managed to find time to go on a First Date with us. Such good guys!
We’re not the only ones whose heads they’ve turned; they’ve earned the praises of Spin, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Esquire, and NPR.
