TVD Recommends: Howler in-store at Reckless Records tomorrow, 4/3

Currently on a worldwide tour in support of their full-length debut, America Give Up, Minneapolis punk rockers Howler will be stopping in Chicago for an in-store performance at Reckless Records tomorrow, 4/3

Following the release of their debut EP, “This One’s Different” in 2011, Howler was signed to Rough Trade Records. After touring with the Vaccines, the band picked up momentum in the UK and was named one of NME’s best new bands of 2011.

With hints of nostalgia all throughout the record, Howler has molded their style around the fuzzed-out garage pop of groups like The Strokes and The Clash.

The brainchild of vocalist/guitarist Jordan Gatesmith, Howler’s full lineup consists of guitarist Ian Nygaard, bassist France Camp, keyboardist Max Petrek and drummer Brent Mayes. The record is as fun as it is catchy, and Howler is a group that you are definitely going to want to keep in your line of sight.

Released on 1/17, through Rough Trade Records, you can pick up Howler’s debut LP, America Give Up, online or tomorrow at the show.

The free show starts at 6:30 PM at Reckless Records’ Broadway location – 3126 N. Broadway.
