The Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival is a two day celebration of Chicago’s rich roots music and culture.
Expanded to take over the last two Saturdays in January, the first night of this incredible festival, now in its fourth year, is taking place at the Auditorium Theatre tomorrow. Some of Chicago’s best musicians will be taking the stage with a handful of contemporary music’s most accomplished and influential artists to share their appreciation for bluegrass, blues, and everything that it has created.

Newgrass pioneer, David Grisman, will be to joining the Del McCoury Band on stage after their respective sets for the “Big Mon Jam”. Inspired by the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe, it will be the first of two on-stage collaborations for the night.
Rounding out the show will be the “Bluegrass Ball Jam” hosted by The Travelin’ McCourys. The jam will feature a cast of bluegrass royalty including, Bill Nershi of String Cheese Incident & Jeff Austin of Yonder Mountain String Band.

The festival kicks off at 2:00 PM tomorrow, (1/21), at the Auditorium Theatre (50 E. Congress Parkway). Tickets range anywhere from $39 – $59, and can be picked up from Ticketmaster.
