Chicagoland Record Collectors Show, 9/18

Every other month, record collectors and dealers from all over Chicagoland come together in Hillside for the “Midwest’s largest vinyl show.”

On average, the Chicagoland Record Collectors Show features 50-60 dealers that manage to fill 80 tables with vintage albums, 45’s and more. The overwhelming stock spans a range of genres including, Rock, Jazz, Soul, R & B, Country, Folk, Alternative and Metal.

The show also takes a great deal of pride in its dealers. From their site:

What makes us different from other record shows is that the dealers are reputable. They consistently have great records to sell and are helpful in filling customer requests. New dealers are pre-screened and referenced before they are allowed to sell at the show. To ensure that you get the best quality of merchandise available at the show, no bootleg or counterfeit sales are allowed.

The Chicagoland Record Collectors Show is this Sunday, September 18, at the Best Western Hotel Chicago in Hillside – 4400 Frontage Road Hillside, IL 60162. The show runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and will cost you just $3.00 to get in (kids under 12 are free).

If you can’t make it out, the next show is scheduled for November 20, and you can stay informed of future shows and deals through their Facebook.

If you want a warm-up for Sunday’s show, Alsip has its own Record Collector’s Show on Saturday, September 17. This show tends to be much smaller than Hillside, but it offers a distinct advantage: Many of the dealers sell at both shows, making Alsip an opportunity to get “first dibs” on some incredible records before they hit the tables on Sunday.

The Alsip Record Collector’s Show is this Saturday, September 17, at the Double Tree Hotel in Alsip – 5000 West 127th Street Alsip, IL 60803. The show runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and will again cost you only $3.00 to get in (kids under 12 are free).
