Zachary James & The All Seeing Eyes have launched a Kickstarter to fund their sophomore release “SPACE CASE,” a new full length album drenched in James’ signature brand of infectious hooks and cosmic rock ‘n’ roll, on a never-before pressed limited edition vinyl.
Inspired by the glam-rock possibilities of space and alien-rockers (ala Ziggy Stardust), James is taking the interstellar themes within the record to a bold new frontier. The record will be pressed on GALAXY themed vinyl for the 12” LP.
Swirled with black, blue, white, purple, and pink vinyl, and dusted with silver glitter resembling stars, each record forms a microcosmic galaxy you can spin on a turntable or hang on the wall as a unique, hand-signed piece of art!
Every record also comes with a double-sided, 12 x 24” poster print of original artwork by Alexandra Starlight. Because each record is completely hand-crafted, every record in the series is a unique GALAXY.
On September 28th, the Miles Davis House will celebrate the life, art, vision, and journey of music icon Miles Davis on the date of his passing, with an eclectic line-up of multi-genre buzzbands who pay homage to his global influence.
Hosted by Erin Davis, Miles Davis’ son, and Vince Wilburn Jr., Miles Davis’ nephew, the celebration will include performances by Alexandra & The Starlight Band, David & Devine, Gabriel Johnson and Steven Roth, DJ sets by DJ Clifton Weaver AKA Soft Touch, and Miles Tackett (Breakestra) of LA’s longest running weekly soul/funk dance party, Funky Sole, and a Miles Davis pop-up shop with T-shirts, vinyl , giveaways and more.
Yesterday, at Sunset Strip’s famed Viper Room, KISS (sans make-up!) rolled out (literally!) their aptly titled “Monster” book.
Weighing in at nearly 50 pounds, Kiss Monster features a collection of exclusive KISS photographs pulled from the band’s extensive archive from their over-40 year career rockin’ Detroit City and beyond. Of its size, Paul Stanley said, “It’s not a coffee table book, it is a coffee table,” reinforcing the age-old macho adage: “size does matter.”
When one reporter asked if KISS had plans to make a smaller version of the book, Stanley quipped: “I did make ‘it’ smaller. I had to get a reduction—it was too big.”
Well then, Paul. Of course, with its hefty—ahem—girth, comes an equally hefty pricetag: for just a mere $4,250, you can own one of these two by three feet, limited-edition books, signed by all four members of KISS.
This Saturday, June 23 marks the all day music affair that is the Moon Block Party in Pomona!
I’ve had the honor of playing one of the Moon Block Party concert series myself with my Starlight Band (at the Desert Daze fest in Desert Hot Springs) and can only say that festival-mastermind Phil Pirrone knows how to make one magical event.
Just look at all the space, eyes, and tye-dye in the flyer below! AND it’s free and all ages! I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the Wizard of Oz himself.
Hi Phil! How are you? Can you talk about the line-up and what you have cooking for Moon Block Party Pomona?
Hello everyone, Alexandra Starlight here with a special giveaway of my record which is released …today!
As you all know, I poured a lot of blood, sweat, and glitter into each and every vinyl disc that I’m releasing today. After raising all of the funds via Kickstarter (and then some!) I was able to produce the record of my technicolor dreams: a clear vinyl 7″, embedded with tons of multi-prismatic rainbow glitter.
Because each and every record had different colors of glitter sprinkled into it by hand, they are each unique, kinda like glam rock snowflakes! I’m sure Elton and Ziggy would approve.
