Xander Harris “Urban Gothic” LP (Not Not Fun) Debut full-length by this classically trained Austin synth / drum-pad whiz rips like an 80s horror-stalker VHS take on Umberto’s 70s giallo/Goblin-isms. Highly recommended.
Porter, Bern & Mark Melnicove “Music For Children Of All Ages Vol. 1” LP (Turned Word) In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Bern’s birthday, Turned Word Records presents this 34-minute LP of performed poetry, philosophical musings, and general word play, by Bern Porter and longtime collaborator, Mark Melnicove.

Includes bonus 7″ repro of the debut “Kiss of Death” single. Also included is an A2 sized gig poster and 8 page book with original artwork for the demos/articles/Roxcalibur art and info and tons of pix of an incredibly young band caught in the act of Church and Grave desecration. Highly recommended for fans of the classic NWOBHM sound.

Astronauts “Peter Pan Hits the Suburbs” LP (La Vida Es Un Mus) Reissue of this long lost masterpiece from 1981 originally released by Bulge / Genius records. The Astronauts were (and are, after close to 30 years and a history of lineup shifts only bested by The Fall) the definitive psych-punk ensemble, though even that title doesnt do ’em justice. Their sound culminates the post ’77 punk dabblings of head forbears.
Chalk Circle “Reflection” LP (Post Present Medium) First all-female punk band to record & perform in DC. Active between ’81 & ’83, 12 songs collected from compilations, live shows & unreleased recordings.
Criaturas “Aranas en el Corazon” 7″ (Todo Destruido) New single from local punk band, in the vein of Ultimo Resorte.
