As they do every Record Store Day, Waterloo Records has some cool stuff going on throughout the day. I know most of you (myself included) will be getting there at 10am to get your paws on the best RSD releases, but there will also be some great events happening later in the day that will make you want to come back to Waterloo after visiting the other fine record stores in town.
First up at 3pm, Austin guitar legend Eric Johnson will be signing copies of the vinyl release of Up Close. This album doesn’t officially hit stands until 4/19, but Waterloo got the ok to put it out early in honor of Record Store Day and this autograph signing. Also available will be his recently reissued Ah Via Musicom on 180 Gram Vinyl. So grab a copy of each album and get them signed by Eric!
Then at 5pm that day, Texas faves The Toadies will be playing an intimate set inside the store in celebration of the RSD limited edition 7″ release. Purchasing this 7″ will get you priority admission to the show as well as the autograph line that will be happening afterwards. Just remember, that it is limited room capacity and it’s a limit of two 7″‘s per person.
If you don’t get a chance to see them at Waterloo, you can also catch them that night at Antones.
And speaking of the other fine record stores in town, we’ll have more posts up leading into Record Store Day of what will be happening there as well. Can’t wait!
