Cool Calgary: A bar in a Kensington alley, “Dobranski added a record player and encourages people to bring their own vinyl. ‘Usually, whoever sits beside the record player is the DJ. We make customers do our work for us.'”

Work begins on mural outside Wonderland Records: “With every stroke of Catherine Czerwinski’s paintbrush, the outside of Wonderland Records begins to come to life.”

Valley man runs vinyl record business: “At Vinyl Record Dude’s Warehouse in Scottsdale, Nick Boor has built a thriving business around a passion for records. ‘I like to make it fun and hang a lot of records up, all the posters from the old records people collect, all this stuff they hang it up all over the place,’ said Boor.”

Nirvana’s posthumous collection is getting a special vinyl release: “On August 28 Nirvana will be released as a double LP pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl and packaged in a furnace black gatefold sleeve along with liner notes and a digital download card.”

Youth Lagoon To Release New Single For Free in Record Stores: “The single, which comes out officially on July 10, appears to be called ‘The Knower,’ and the announcement comes with a Google Maps listing of where the single is being distributed. According to the post, the single is free, but interested parties should ‘get there early.’

“The vinyl renaissance has been great news for audiophiles, but not so much for another subset of music fans: mixtape creators. But, don’t worry! Super Specific Vinyl on Demand is stepping in to change the game. The service, which is currently seeking funding via an Indiegogo campaign, will press anything onto a vinyl record…”
