And she should know, since she is the owner of Super Specific Vinyl, a company that offers “one-offs,” or mix tapes, for individual vinyl enthusiasts. To do this, she partnered with best friend David Freel, the owner of Vinyl On Demand, a company that offers short runs for bands who cannot afford all the up-front costs and wait times for pressing vinyl.

The ‘first automated pressing plant in 30’ years could be on its way: Vinyl has been on the rise for some time now, and as the popularity of the format continues to grow, so does the strain put on the limited number of pressing plants worldwide. Companies have been reluctant to invest large sums into new pressing technology over fears that the resurgence may be a short-lived craze that will leave them out of pocket down the line. That may be about to change, with Dallas-based company Hand Drawn Records planning to begin construction on what they are claiming is the “world’s first automated pressing plant” in three decades, aiming to streamline and speed up the process.
Vinyl Fair Rio de Janeiro Returns to Flamengo on June 19th: In addition to LP and EP vendors from across Brazil and DJs spinning live, the popular record fair, Feira do Vinil do Rio de Janeiro will pay homage to Brazilian percussionist and composer Wilson das Neves this Sunday, June 19th. During his career, Neves has played with more than 750 artists including Chico Buarque, Paulo César Pinheiro, Aldir Blanc, Martinho da Vila, and Moacyr Luz. Additionally, Neves has composed approximately 200 songs and released 13 albums.
Radiohead are Hosting Events In Record Stores This Week – Including Australia: Last week came the news that Radiohead were to be hosting special A Moon Shaped Pool-related streaming events in record stores across the worlds. At first, the locations didn’t look like they included Australia but it’s now been confirmed that yes, Australian fans are able to get in on the action. June 17 marks the official hard copy release of their ninth album A Moon Shaped Pool. Along with the release comes an event simply titled “Live From A Moon Shaped Pool,” which will be presented by Radiohead as a “day-long audio stream, competitions, instructional artworks and more” across the globe.
