Music Is Me store has new owners: “We think it’s a great idea of having somewhat of a control over what gets put out in our community. We want to strive to put out positive uplifting music to people, as well as supporting local people with consignments and boutique-made items…”

“…There’s no denying that CDs are on the way out, with unit sales falling another 16% in 2014 from the previous year. It’s true that it’s just a matter of time before the format goes the way of the vinyl record (although there’s been a recent resurgence), the 8 track tape and the cassette. What’s interesting is that the 144.1 million CDs officially reported as sold by the RIAA in 2014 doesn’t represent the real total by a long shot…”

Unreleased White Stripes recording to be sold on white vinyl in box set: Recorded in Detroit before Jack and Meg White split, “Rated X” is a studio cover of a 1972 Lynn single. On the B-side will be a live White Stripes recording from 2005 of another Lynn cover, “Whispering Sea.”
