Luna Record Shop Opens In Franklin (TN): Vinyl has decided to make a comeback as a new record store opened its doors at the Factory in Franklin…They said this isn’t your typical record shop. Instead they’ve been offering a customized shopping experience.

IT’S ‘VINYL-LLY’ HERE, Rediscover vintage records, eclectic tomes at Backstreet Beat: When staff reductions led to the loss of his position at the Art Institute of Seattle, long-time photography teacher and noted island artist Raymond Gendreau decided to be his own boss and finally follow a dream that had been persistently in the back of his mind for many years: to open his own vintage shop.

Vinyl Records Go for Another Spin: Justin Crowther is a musician and now co-founder of Burlington Record Plant. “It was kind of like once we had the idea, that’s it we’re going to make it happen.” Crowther knew he had a sound idea. “There’s a special quality, ya know how it’s produced on vinyl record, with the grooves and the vibrations. I think there’s something there,” said Crowther.

Hidden treasures of a remote record shop: Until recently, people in Mongolia had to travel more than 1,000km (600 miles) across the Gobi desert to Beijing to get to their nearest record shop. But this year, a new specialist store opened in the capital, Ulan Bator.

A pressing engagement: Calgary company taking advantage of vinyl resurgence, The pressing machine’s equivalent of an odometer shows it has made 4,422,640 records, but owner Dean Reid is betting the ageless equipment has got lots of life left. “It should be good for another 10,000,000,” he says proudly. Reid is the founder and chief operating officer of Canada Boy Vinyl, which opened its doors in September and purports to be the only place in Canada where bands can have their music pressed into vinyl to capitalize on a growing market for music nostalgia.
