Get ready to get a little fuzzy this week with Josh Thorpe and his experimental new single “Manhattan,” out now.
Taken from his upcoming album Love & Weather, “Manhattan” is the perfect introduction to Josh’s unique blend of off-kilter alternative rock. Reminiscent of Velvet Underground and Kurt Vile, Josh combines colloquial lyricism with minimalist rock beats creating a sound that is undeniably adventurous and obscure.
Josh is originally from Canada but now resides in Glasgow where he continues to work as a visual artist who has made psychedelic installations of threads, balloons, and “a big public work of flags flying with stupid drawings on them.” If “Manhattan” is anything to go by, we’re excited to see what Love & Weather will bring. Watch this space…
Love & Weather is in stores on 5th February 2021 via Unusual Music Exchange.
