UK Artist of the Week: Scary People

Taking their cue from alternative rock noisenicks such as Death From Above 1979 and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dundee’s Scary People are an exciting prospect with an accomplished sound evident on just their sole debut EP.

It feels as though Scary People almost came together by accident after tour technicians, Dan and Scott had a week to form a live band before their first sell out performance supporting The View. They quickly got their pals Jamie and Troy involved and Scary People were born. The four piece have been playing ever since and have big plans since the debut EP “Smoke.”

They’ve already supported The Cribs and have played a headline slot at Scotland’s Doune The Rabbit Hole festival and they’re not stopping there. There are more singles to come and a possible album in the works—the “Smoke” EP is just the start. With the quality of music they’re already releasing, Scary People are set to take us on an exciting ride and we’ll be hanging in there with them.
