Rona Pano is the creation of two Nottinghamshire school friends, James Hinks and Dan Sheen. Their fuzzy, lo-fi psych tune, ‘You Stole The Laces’ is a worthy listen and is only a mouse click away. The duo are currently writing material for a new EP which should be seeing the light of day late this summer.
In the meantime, you can get into their heads below…
Who are you? We are Rona Pano, a two-piece indie pop band from Leeds
What are you about? “We are all about the music maaaaan…”
Tell us about this track? I’d been messing around and came up with the lead riff and Dan had some lyrics lying around that just seemed to fit. It all came together pretty quickly and it’s a simple song, maybe that’s why people seem to latch on to this one. It’s our little ode to all the American beach rock bands that we are liking lately.
Who has influenced your music the most? It changes all the time… at the minute we have been listening to a lot of early T. Rex, Syd Barrett, Ducktails, Fleet Foxes and Deerhunter
Where do you want to be this time next year? In L.A. pretending we are in Entourage
3 Things you can’t live without? An acoustic guitar, a capo (I’d be able to play about 3 songs without it) and Macclesfield Town FC.
