VIA PRESS RELEASE | Run Out Groove’s first pre-order campaign closed on February 28. The MC5’s The Motor City Five is being pressed to a limited quantity of 2668 LPs and is no longer available on the website. The album will be shipping in early May, so check with your local record store as they may have a copy.
Echo and the Bunnymen fans rallied and voted It’s All Live Now as Run Out Groove’s second pre-order title that is currently available to order until March 31. Echo and the Bunnymen cover the Doors, Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground, Television, and more for Swedish Radio in 1985 and at Royal Albert Hall in 1983. These tracks first appeared on the 2001 box set Crystal Days 1979-1999 but will make their vinyl debut on this new deluxe-packaged collection with liner notes from guitarist Will Sergeant.
A new title has been introduced into the voting section this month, Down by the Old Mainstream by alternative country collective, Golden Smog. This lost classic would be seeing its first repress since the original in 2010 and includes members Jeff Tweedy from Wilco, Gary Louris from the Jayhawks, and Dan Murphy of Soul Asylum. If you think Run Out Groove should press this title next, vote in Golden Smog before 3/31. And if Golden Smog isn’t your thing, there is still time left to vote for the other two titles here—Secret Machines Now Here is Nowhere and Solomon Burke Best of the Atlantic Years 1962-1965. Whichever title gathers the most votes will become available for pre-order in early April.
The best way to stay on top of new monthly ROG titles for pre-order, voting options, and related artist information is to go to Run Out Groove and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Check with your local record store to find out if they will be stocking Run Out Groove releases.
